Leaving Time & Ents Cost

Leaving time and Evening Entertainment!

As you are aware we are leaving school at 4.15 pm leaving little time for students to get home and back again with their ski gear.  To facilitate a hassle-free start to the trip the Head has agreed that students can either:

• come to school in their 'travelling clothes', bring their luggage into school to be stored in Mr Deans office, and then use room 12 as a base while they wait for the coach to arrive.
  
  OR
• students can come to school in their uniform, leave school at 13.45 (missing P5) and return to school at 4.00pm ready for a 4.15 departure.

I will collect information on who will choose which option at our last meeting (TBC) before departure.

Due to the school drive being closed we will load the coach on Loughbrough Road near to the main entrance.

Evening Ents Cost
 

As mentioned at the Ski information Evening and in the initial letter home we always try and keep the cost of the trip as low as possible.  To help with this we keep the 'float' to a minimum and then collect a small surcharge when we first arrive in resort and get the accurate 'Evening Entertainment' costs.  The costs have arrived already this year and we will need to collect 22 Euros from each student on arrival at the hotel to pay for our program of evening entertainment.


Finally... remember I am collecting Passports and EHIC Cards on Monday 28th Jan.  I will be in my office from 8.15am and will put all documents in the school safe at 8.45am.  Do not wait till later in the day to give me your documents!!!  Do not give your documents to Student Services!!!  Be prepared for me to photograph you on arrival - I am going to create all of our 'Passport Size Photos' for the ski pass.

Good news!  The jet stream is re-aligning and the Alps is getting colder by the minute.  To add to that more snow is on the way to freshen up the piste.

Anyway the meeting after school today:

• I will be taking your passport and EHIC off you on the morning of Monday 28th January at 8.15 to 8.30am.  I will do this sat in my office on the Maths corridor next to room 12. If you don't bring it I'll assume you don't want to come!  If you are off ill that day e-mail me on mdeans@wbs.eu.com to tell me when you will be bringing me your documents!
• Check your Passport and EHIC!  Every other year somebody has to rush off to Peterborough the day before the trip to get an emergency passport.  Without BOTH items you will not be allowed on the coach!
• We have a leaving time on Friday 15th February of 4.15pm.  You will need to be back at school by 3.30pm with your bags ready to load.  Meeting point to be confirmed.
• Rooming information did not arrive on time from the travel company HOWEVER start to plan rooming in multiples of 2 as the rooms in the hotel are 2/4 and 6 person rooms.
• Have you bought or arranged the hire of your ski clothing yet?  The sales are now on!
• Have you made sure you are fit and flexible!  See http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/winter_sports/4261932.stm for advice.  I VERY MUCH recommend getting fit to get the most from your trip.
• Ms Tait presented information on the two trips to Tamworth.
